In May of 2009 we decided to venture out from our comfortable location of Garden Valley Golf Club in Lindale, TX. We chose Pine Dunes Golf Club, a mere 40 minutes due south of Lindale in the small town of Frankston, TX due to it’s highly emphasized ranking from a worthy news source (Golfweek…number 1 course in Texas).
It was the navy/white team vs blue/white pant team in the krewe.
This trip had special meaning. Really special. We were chosen to get ambushed by none other than the Golf Channel’s Matt Gianella. They would be there to film and document our trip. We would also get published in the August issue. Thanks Tim Kennedy!
We found the course not quite what was promised but what we were playing for was pure gold.
Chuck Melton came out on top for this year winning his first Wedgewood Cup! Congrats Chuck!
