Hole #4 is the first par 5 on the front 9. We will be playing from the sand tees at 522 yards.
It’s the #1 handicap for a reason. It’s uphill and there is waste area on each side of the fairway. Here’s the view from the tee.
Make your approach into the green a good one and don’t be short. There is a steep false front that shoot your ball back downhill.
If #4 didn’t get your attention, then the par 3 hole #5 will. It’s a 164 yards from the orange tees and the tee box is the highest point on the golf course.
The green is several feet below the tee box, but if you don’t hit the green you ball is likely to roll off into a depressed area.
Hole #6 is a 415 yard par 4. A good drive off the tee here is vital as bunkering creeps into the fairway along the left side.
The 6th green has a few different levels so being on the right one can make all the difference.
And finally Hole #7 is another par 5 coming in at 515 yards.
Again there is more bunkering along both sides of the fairway. Here’s a shot of the approach into the green.
Here’s a side shot of the green on #7
Next week we will cover a few more holes of Sand Valley. As you can start to see hitting it in the right spot means everything. Also there’s more sand than rough,…thus the name.
