Wedgewood Wednesday Vol 3 Knee is the New Shoulder

New rule 14.3 changes how we drop the golf ball.  It is now from the knee.  Before it was at shoulder height.  While this may look awkward the main goal is to keep the ball in play and lessen the risk of the ball rolling back in the hazard therefore speeding up play.

Regardless of if you are dropping from the knee or arms length, the taller player is more at a disadvantage than the shorter player.  It doesn’t make sense.  Your already penalized a stroke due to hitting it in a hazard.  Why wouldn’t the ruling bodies just let you place the ball on the ground instead of dropping it at all?
